Luckily, if you have a jailbroken iPhone, you can install a tweak called NewsoftheWorld, which unlocks the News app for you, even if you’re in a country where the app isn’t officially available from Apple. US users can enjoy it, but there are a handful countries where the app isn’t available on the iPhone or iPad.
However, the app isn’t available everywhere. NewsoftheWorldĪpple’s News app is a new app that the company introduced in iOS 9, giving users a one-stop shop for all the news they could ever want, similar to Flipboard or other curation app like it. However, with a tweak called UntetheredHeySiri, you can use Hey Siri with or without being plugged in on any iPhone, and this includes devices running iOS 8, not just iOS 9. With the iPhone 6s, this feature works whether the device is plugged in or not, whereas older iPhones need to be plugged in. Introduced in iOS 8, Hey Siri is a feature that users can take advantage of with their iPhones plugged in, allowing you to use Siri completely hands-free by saying “Hey Siri” followed by a command. Some 3D Touch tweaks are starting to include vibration by default, so there has become less of a need for Hapticle, but it still has a place right now on your jailbroken iPhone. Without Hapticle, activating a 3D Touch feature with a previously-mentioned tweak won’t give you a vibration, which is kind of part of the whole feature, but Hapticle makes it happen. To make those 3D Touch tweaks even better, you can install a tweak called Hapticle, which provides vibration feedback whenever you activate 3D Touch on your iPhone. It’s a workaround for 3D Touch that does the trick, although it isn’t quite as good as actual 3D Touch on the iPhone 6s. Swiping up even more will Pop the photo and open it up completely. For example, in the Photos app, you can long-press on a photo then swipe up slightly to Peek at the photo. However, a tweak called UniversalForce makes it work by using separate gestures. Since older iPhones don’t have the pressure-sensitive display, you can apply two different actions for a long-press. So one problem with bringing 3D Touch features to older iPhones is that not all of the 3D Touch features will work, most notably Peek and Pop. Shortcuts gives Cydia 3D Touch Quick Actions, as well as provides Spotify with some cool shortcuts of its own. Since there are some apps that don’t yet have 3D Touch Quick Actions, a tweak called Shortcuts adds them in instead, and perhaps makes the shortcuts better for apps that already have 3D Touch Quick Actions. However, a new tweak adds even more to this.
